The global volume of electronic waste is expected to reach 52.2 million tones or 6.8 kg per person by 2021. The rapid advancement of technology has led to a staggering increase in electronic waste (e-waste). However, technology itself is also playing a pivotal role in addressing this challenge through upcycling. Innovators are finding creative ways to repurpose and refurbish electronic devices, extending their lifespan and reducing e-waste. From smartphones and laptops to electronic components, upcycling initiatives are transforming discarded technology into functional devices, reducing environmental impact, and contributing to the circular economy.
